VR and xAPI in Learning

Hugh Seaton, CEO of Aquinas

April 24th, 2018

8:00AM – 10:00AM

University of New Haven Orange Campus

584 Derby Milford Road, Orange, CT

Our vision for the Learning CoP is to cover various topics in the Learning and Development space ranging from general approaches to learning and development, to emerging trends in design, delivery, and technologies.

“VR for Learning is here, and it works.” – Josh Bersin

Virtual Reality (VR) is emerging as one of the most promising new tools for L&D. Join us for an interactive session where we’ll introduce VR, discuss its promises and pitfalls, and give the group hands-on experience. VR creates a unique, learner-centric experience that empowers learning like no other medium can. This sense of personal relevance creates an emotional response to learning goals that drives retention and greater behavioral impacts. One of the biggest developments in the learning space is the potential of xAPI to track and analyze learner’s behavior.  We will review what xAPI is, how it differs from SCORM, how xAPI works in VR experience, and how you can use it in your programs.

We will conclude this session with a discussion on introducing VR into your programs from a change perspective led by Anna Samorukova.
