Program Description:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) seems to be everywhere these days – the news, social media, our workplaces, and even our home appliances. Often, AI is posed either as a threat to humankind (or at least our jobs) or the next big boost to medical discovery and unshackling the worker.

As the AI Training Portfolio Manager for IBM, David Fiore will help us
explore the potential and perils of AI without the hyperbole.

Our discussion will include:

   ·       the current state of AI

   ·       the potential of AI for learning and development

   ·       how to avoid the pitfalls of AI, such as bias in results

   ·       where AI is going

Join us for this interactive and fun opportunity to explore AI!

Our Presenter:

David Fiore has a lot of experience with new technologies. He joined IBM about three years ago when his employer, Turbonomic, an application resource management company, was acquired. As Senior Technical Trainer and then Senior Education Architect at Turbonomic, David developed and delivered curricula for employees, customers, and partners. He was one of the primary designers of the certification program which grew to three distinct levels.

David believes it is necessary to re-invent oneself pretty regularly. He has been a PC support technician, a systems integrator, a network consultant, a trainer, a software developer, and a team lead, and a manager. Through all of these different positions, there has been a recurring theme of acquiring new knowledge and skills, and then using these to make technology accessible to others. David earned a BS in Physics from the University of California at Riverside, and numerous certifications from Cisco, Turbonomic, IBM and more.
